Overview
Two hidden Tibetan-style villages in a restricted valley, reached through canyons and over the high Kang La pass.
Nar and Phu sit in a restricted area north of the Annapurna Circuit. Few visitors come here, and yak herding and old Buddhist traditions shape everyday life.
The trek passes through narrow gorges and high pastures, then crosses Kang La, usually listed near 5,240 m, into Ngawal. Lodges are basic.
A restricted area permit is required, along with a licensed guide. Solo permits and group rules have changed recently, so confirm current rules before booking.
