Overview
Climb Nepal's highest commonly guided trekking peak, a long glacier ascent with views of five 8,000 m mountains from the summit.
Mera Peak is usually given as 6,476 m, and it is reached through the remote Hinku valley rather than the busy Everest trail. Technically it is mostly a long snow walk on a glacier, with a short steeper section near the top.
On a clear day, the summit shows Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kanchenjunga. Altitude is the main challenge, so the itinerary allows time to acclimatize.
You need excellent fitness and should be comfortable with crampons and rope work. A climbing permit is required.
