  • Phoksundo Lake
  • Numa La and Baga La passes
  • Dho Tarap village
  • Ancient Bon culture

Overview

A shorter Dolpo circuit via Numa La and Baga La, ending at the striking turquoise Phoksundo Lake.

Lower Dolpo keeps much of the region's character in less time than the full Upper Dolpo trip. It visits Dho Tarap and crosses two high passes, Numa La and Baga La, before reaching Phoksundo Lake.

Camping support is needed on the high sections, and the passes require fitness and acclimatization. Lodges are limited.

A restricted area permit, a national park permit and a licensed guide are required.
