Highlights

What you came for.

  • Starts near Kathmandu
  • Tharepati ridge views
  • Hyolmo Sherpa culture
  • No high-altitude passes

Overview

A low-altitude loop from the edge of Kathmandu through Sherpa and Tamang villages and quiet forest ridges.

Helambu begins right at the Kathmandu Valley rim, so you need no long drive to reach the trail. The walk follows ridges and terraced valleys, with views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal.

The route stays below 3,700 m, which makes it a good shorter option in spring, autumn and clear winter weather.

A Shivapuri and Langtang permit may apply, depending on your route.
