Overview
The complete Khumbu circuit: three high passes, Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar and Gokyo on one demanding loop for experienced trekkers.
This long circuit crosses Kongma La, Cho La and Renjo La, each above 5,300 m, and links every major valley in the Everest region.
It is a serious trek. Passes can hold snow and ice, days are long, and you need solid fitness and prior altitude experience. Microspikes may be needed on Cho La.
Everest-region permits apply. Build in spare days, because weather affects both the passes and Lukla flights.
