- Far fewer visitors than Chitwan
Overview
Nepal's largest lowland park, a quieter safari in the far west, where tiger sightings are a real possibility.
Bardia gets far fewer visitors than Chitwan, and the forest and grassland feel wilder. Tigers, wild elephants, rhinos and gharial crocodiles all live here.
Jeep drives, river trips and guided walks with experienced naturalists are the main activities. Patience matters, because wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
Reach the park by a flight to Nepalgunj, then a road transfer. Summer is very hot.
